β - tricalcium phosphate (β - TCP) is a biodegradable or bioabsorbing bioactive ceramic material. When implanted in the human body, the degraded Ca and P enter the living circulatory system to form new bone. Therefore, it is an ideal hard tissue substitute material. β - TCP is a biodegradable bioceramic with a chemical formula of Ca3 (PO4) 2 and a Ca/P ratio of 1.5. β - TCP has a faster degradation rate and higher solubility than hydroxyapatite. Tricalcium phosphate has good biocompatibility, bioactivity, and biodegradability, making it an ideal material for repairing and replacing human hard tissues.
