The Magnetic Beads based DNA Purification Kits are designed for rapid and efficient purification of DNA from different samples including tissues, blood cells, bacteria and viruses. The magnetic beads are silica nano-beads with excellent nucleic acid binding properties. They contain super-paramagnetic Fe3O4 core and SiOH outer surface modified with SiO2. They have low, non-specific adsorption achieved by optimizing the size of the nanobeads, the thickness of the SiO2 layer and the SiOH density. Different kits represent a mixture of nanobeads of different sizes ranging from 80 nm-3 μm that allows the binding of small and large size DNA molecules. In this separation technique, magnetic beads bound to DNA are attracted to a magnetic rack. The DNA is then eluted from the beads using a proprietary buffer system. The purified DNA can be used for many downstream applications including PCR, restriction digestion, Southern blot, sequencing etc.
