A venturi mask or an air-entrainment mask is a medical device that delivers a known oxygen concentration to patients on controlled oxygen therapy. It can deliver oxygen concentrations ranging from 24% to 80% with flow rates of 4-12 L/min. The major clinical applications of venturi masks include COPD and asthma. The other applications include respiratory distress syndrome, cystic fibrosis (CF), pneumonia, acute myocardial infarction, severe trauma, and neuromuscular diseases causing ventilatory failure.
